Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Sets Its Sight On Breakthrough Performance with Benchmarking Workshop

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) is responsible for the security of Singapore's borders against the entry of undesirable persons and cargo through our land, air and sea checkpoints. Aside from border security, ICA also performs immigration and registration functions such as the issuing of travel documents and identity cards to Singapore citizens. ICA also issues various immigration passes and permits to foreigners. As a security agency, ICA also conducts operations against immigration offenders.  Having set their sights on achieving breakthrough performance levels, ICA has partnered with Operational Excellence Consulting to deliver a workshop to equip its management team on the Benchmarking methodology with the objective of enhancing its strategy development and deployment process. 

Ministry of Social & Family Development Launches Lean Thinking & Lean Practitioner Workshops

Newly formed Ministry of Social & Family Development (MSF) develops the “heartware” for Singapore through its policies, community infrastructure, programmes and services.  Its mission is to build a cohesive and resilient nation that can overcome challenges together. Previously known as the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the Ministry was officially restructured on 1 November 2012. Following the successful Lean Thinking seminar for its senior management last year, the ministry has once again partnered with Operational Excellence Consulting to deliver general and specialized Lean workshops to its management and staff to create organization-wide cultural awareness on Lean Thinking and provide advisory services to teams of Lean Practitioners to apply the learnings to improve efficiency and enhance the value of its public services.

Transitions Optical Philippines Jumpstart TWI Training for Managers and Supervisors

Transitions Optical is a global manufacturer of plastic photochromic lenses. The company has sales and manufacturing facilities all over the world.  A batch of managers and supervisors from the Transitions Optical Philippines plant have completed a two-day Training Within Industry (TWI) workshop in Manila facilitated by Operational Excellence Consulting.  The TWI program components include Job Instruction, Job Methods and Job Relations.  The practical approach has successfully enabled the participants in enhancing the implementation of Standard Work to improve productivity, quality and safety.
